It also provides EuroChauffeurs' customers with access to a wider network of ground transport options as well as TBR’s technology and customer service centers.
The team from EuroChauffeurs, which has been in operation for about 20 years, is joining TBR.
“Prior to this, it has all been organic growth. We realize now that if we want to continue on that high-growth strategy with the business, an M&A [mergers and acquisitions] strategy is really important," said Craig Chambers, CEO of TBR.
He said the company would continue to look for opportunities to acquire in areas where it is already present, as well as look at the potential to make acquisitions in niche areas such as events.
Chambers also said consolidation in the market is “well overdue.”
“We’ve started to see a lot of activity taking place in the last 12 to 18 months, and that will continue to happen. From my perspective, that can only be a good thing for a corporate client or TMC [travel management company] partner who will have a much more consolidated offering.”
Commenting on potential challenges to growth, Chambers said global instability is a concern as it impacts on confidence in the corporate travel market and the desire to travel.
“That’s definitely front of mind at the moment. Really anything that is macroeconomic, and political situations can be disruptive to businesses, [which] is obviously a concern, and we’re closely monitoring the situation.”
