Unravel has raised $7 million in Series A funding for its
artificial intelligence (AI)-powered travel video content which helps user
discover and book trips.
The investment in the London-based startup, a PhocusWire Hot 25 Travel Startup for 2024, was
led by Nauta Capital, with participation from Active Partners, Slingshot
Ventures and Olivier Bisserier, former chief financial officer of Booking.com. They
were joined by Antler, Nodes, Upscalers, Brook Bay Capital and the Players Fund.
Unravel, which was founded in 2021, provides an immersive experience,
allowing users to feel that “it could be them enjoying this life enriching
experience,” the company previously told PhocusWire.

“The way people discover travel has changed. They don't
sift through endless search results—they get inspired by creators who are
exploring the world and sharing their experiences. Unravel bridges that gap,
turning creator-shot videos into seamless, AI-powered booking
experiences," said Vijay Anand, CEO and co-founder of Unravel.
The app’s shoppable video feed has been compared to
scrolling on social media, using personalized algorithms to make travel recommendations
based on customer preferences, browsing history and budget. The platform has
positioned itself as a tool for banks, insurers, credit card providers and
telcos as another outlet for their customer base.
Since its seed funding round in October 2023, Unravel’s
annual recurring revenue has grown more than six times, the company said.
Unravel has not yet confirmed what this round of funding
will be allocated to.
